Culligan Quench Helps the Katz JCC Make Better Hydration More Accessible

At the Marjorie & Lewis Katz Jewish Community Center in Margate, New Jersey, people of all ages come together to exercise, learn, participate in programs and connect with their community. With so many members, visitors and employees moving throughout the facility each day, convenient access to great-tasting water matters.

To support the organization and the community it serves, Culligan Quench donated seven bottleless water coolers to the Katz JCC. The new systems have made filtered drinking water more accessible throughout the facility, helping visitors and staff stay refreshed wherever their day takes them.

Supporting a community-focused organization

The Katz JCC offers fitness, aquatics, youth, family, cultural and active-adult programming in a welcoming environment designed for people of different ages and abilities. Providing dependable access to drinking water is an important part of supporting everyone who uses the facility, from members finishing a workout to families attending an event.

The donation was part of a broader Culligan Quench philanthropic initiative that provided 30 bottleless filtered water coolers to charitable organizations in 2025. Michelle Rosenberg, senior counsel at Culligan Quench and a resident of the South Jersey community, helped connect the initiative with nonprofit organizations in the area.

For Rosenberg, the opportunity brought together her professional work and her personal connection to the community.

“It really showed how something that seems simple can make a big difference,” Rosenberg said.

Seven water coolers making a daily difference

Seven Culligan Quench systems were installed throughout the Katz JCC, making filtered water easier to access during workouts, programs, events and everyday activities.

Unlike traditional bottled coolers, bottleless systems connect to a building’s existing water supply and filter water at the point of use. This creates a convenient, on-demand source of drinking water without requiring employees to order, store or replace bulky water jugs.

For a busy community center, that can mean:

  • Convenient access to filtered water throughout the day
  • Less space devoted to storing bottles or replacement jugs
  • Fewer interruptions associated with managing water deliveries
  • A more sustainable alternative to relying on bottled water
  • A reliable hydration experience for employees, members and guests

The Katz JCC community has embraced the new systems, with staff and visitors enjoying easy access to clean, refreshing and great-tasting water throughout the facility.

More than a one-time donation

The donated systems were provided directly to the recipient organizations rather than through Culligan Quench’s typical rental arrangement. Culligan Quench also committed to maintaining the machines throughout their usable lives.

That ongoing support helps ensure the Katz JCC can continue providing reliable filtered water without adding another maintenance responsibility to its team. It also reflects a shared commitment to creating a lasting benefit for the people who depend on the center’s programs and services.

Why is filtered water important for community centers?

Community centers often welcome a wide variety of visitors each day, including children, families, athletes, volunteers, employees and older adults. Placing filtered water dispensers in convenient locations encourages visitors to refill their bottles and hydrate as they move between activities.

Bottleless water coolers can also help facilities reduce their dependence on single-use plastic bottles and 5-gallon jugs. Because the systems use the facility’s existing water supply, they provide filtered water on demand without recurring bottled-water deliveries.

For nonprofits and community organizations, this combination of convenience, sustainability and ongoing support can make a meaningful difference.

Building healthier, better-hydrated communities

The Culligan Quench installation at the Marjorie & Lewis Katz JCC demonstrates how a practical improvement can have a lasting community impact. With seven bottleless water coolers located throughout the center, members, visitors and employees have convenient access to filtered water whenever they need it.

It is a simple change, but one that helps the Katz JCC continue creating a welcoming, supportive and better-hydrated environment for its community.
