How We Calculate These Costs

These estimates use the same total cost of ownership model as the interactive Culligan Quench calculator. The model uses the configured daily water consumption per employee and 21 working days per month. Bottleless equipment is sized using units with capacities of 24, 74, and 200 daily users. For more than 200 users, the calculation selects the lowest-cost combination of available units that provides sufficient capacity. Depending on the comparison type, estimated costs may include equipment rental or purchase, installation, repairs, filter replacement, professional cleaning, energy, tap water, sewer charges, water delivery, and delivery fees. Installation costs are based on the current calculator configuration.

Cost basics

How much does a bottleless water cooler cost per month?

The price of a bottleless water cooler depends on a few factors, including how many people use it each day. A 50-person office pays around $63 per month, while a facility serving 1,000 daily users pays about $611 per month.

How much does a bottleless water cooler cost per employee?

Between 3 and 6 cents per employee per workday for most offices. Cost per employee drops as headcount grows: about $1.26 per employee monthly at 50 daily users, versus $0.61 at 1,000 daily users.

What does a bottleless water cooler cost per year?

Annual cost ranges from about $740 for a 25-person office to about $7,336 for a facility serving 1,000 daily users.

Is it cheaper to rent or buy a bottleless water cooler?

Renting spreads the cost into a predictable monthly fee that includes the cost of the equipment, filter changes, preventive maintenance, and customer support. Buying, on the other hand, means a larger upfront cost and separate maintenance. Most workplaces rent because service and filter replacement are bundled in.
